PostSubject: The Beginning (Arc 1: The Beginning Part:1)   Fri Feb 22, 2013 8:28 pm

"I was to be one with the EARTH! I WAS TO BE ONE AWAREGE" was the words of a former friend still echoing in the mind of the Junkan head. Said friend was recently seen fighting along side Samurai destroying a monastery in the western part of the continent. Out of his mind, out of Awarege's sight. He sighed looking at the small children all trying to circulate the energy's of the mother earth.
"Kurio, how far have you fallen." He mumbled to himself. He'd recived a message days earlier that he was needed in the northern mountains, that a teams would meet him here to venture forth with him. A small price to pay to know the future was how he viewed the trip. 6 men would be in the group and he would make the seventh still he couldn't grasp why it was now the Shogunate moved.

Jinpachi knelt in the center of a large earthen room looking as the last bit of light began to leave his fathers eyes. "Lead the clan well jinpachi, like I always knew you could." Spoke his father as the last bit of light left his eyes and his body went completely limp. "I will father, I will lead us to glory, as you always wanted." Spoke jinpachi as he began to rise to his feet. Just as he stood up the clan elders entered the room. "Jinpachi Daisuke, you have slain your father in single combat and are at the age of adulthood. As our long standing customs state, you are now the acting clan head of the Daisuke clan." Jinpachi nodded solemnly. He then began to speak.
"Call the clan together, my father was a great man, and I shall make his funeral just as great. Tell them we are gathering to mourn a fallen warrior of the clan."
Jinpachi then slipped on his gas mask and exited the room with his head held high. He may have been wounded in his fight, but he would show his fellow clansmen no weakness.

To walk the garden was all that he could fathom to do. Meeting with his arranged wife Miko would be an honor, yet it was bitter sweet. The Doukusei clan head was to be coming, and his last encounter with the elder man wasn't well. Miko had been offended and the man would not retract his words. Now however he was to wait. For he would lead the other 5 members here so they could set out.

The young dokusei clan head watched as the funeral pire that his father body was on was lit on fire with a small fire technique. To be grieved in this way was the second most respectfull way to go, other than dying in the field of battle. As he slipped his green mask on he turned toward the small group of people behind him. "You 5 are the best medics and poison specialists our clan has to offer, we are to leave to meet the head of the Junkan clan in 20 minutes, so gather whatever gear is needed. Remember that in the case of an attack watch your usage of poison ninjutsu, he is not immune to it like our clan members are. Dismissed!" They all disappeared in a poof of poisonous smoke. (Poison shunshin, by the way)

The Children spared in the Monastery yard, flat palm strikes releasing chakra to deplete the others breath. Fun, peacful, training of the body and mind to strengthen the bonds. Yet, if Miko's summoning was anything like he believed, these spars of innocence would become bloodshed for survival. Destroying the peace the Junkan clan had tried so hard to achieve. More Oni would walk then statues set and Awarege would have to see the suffering, the loss and heal the wounds of those less fortunate. Those who retained their sanity and lost their path to enlightenment. By the spar many elders sat and smoked the finest tobaccos soaked in fruit juice. To relieve his mind and lessen the wait he assumed he'd join.

The Daisuke and his clan head could see the monastery in the distance now. They had been traveling for the better part of the day and the sun was not beginning its decent into night. He took a deep breath and looked around, always ready for danger. He turned to his team and gave them all a once over.
"You are representing the Daisuke clan now, don't show them a bit of weakness."
He then turned back around and they began to walk closer to the monastery.

The smoke filled the air as the children practiced meditation. Awarege smiled as all tension from his earlier thought where cleared. But as the dusk settled in 6 men approached the Monastery. From the masks he knew they where of the Daisuke clan but the elder wasn't accompanying them. Bowing to the others. He rose from his cushion and approached them.
"Welcome to the Monastery members of the Daisuke clan. It's an honor to have your company." He said bowing.

Jinpachi and his men bowed to the man as well. He then stood up and looked at the man, trying to gauge his strength. Even if they were on peaceful terms right now, that could change in an instant in the shinobi world.
"The feeling is mutual, I am the head of the Daisuke clan, Jinpachi Daisuke at your service. I am curious as to why I was called here. I was told to come, but not why exactly I was coming."

Looking the young man over a sense of weariness was apparent.
"Follow me I will show you to your quarters, we shall not leave until in the morning." Awarege spoke motioning them to follow him. "I assume the last clan head has passed on?" He spoke as he walked.
"Either way, the mission is to the Enbou clan. Lady Miko has seemed to have a vision of some forth coming events. If my intuition is right, they are on the darker side of things." He finished pulling back a sliding door showing a rather spacious room. "Futons are in the furthest closet to the left. Anything else?"

"Yes my father has passed on. As per custom I was the one who had slain him in honorable combat. Making me the new clan head. And as for a last question, where can we get some food? My men are quite hungry and it would be better if we were well fed and rested in case something were to happen tomorrow." Spoke jinpachi as he leaned against the wall.

Awarege simply nodded. "I'll arrange a meal to be brought to you all shortly. With that he left the men alone. One of the children brought the food to the ninja and stared blankly at them after his job had been accomplished. It was foreign to see members of the Daisuke clan and even rarer to see anyone stay in this Monastery.

The daisuke members sat down and gingerly removed their masks to eat. There was nothing particularly extraordinary under the masks of the men, and as it turned out, two women. They gave a quick 'itadakimasu' and ate there food slowly. None of the members conversed as they were all trying to be acutely aware to their surroundings. This of course was no surprise due to the already secretive and borderlined paranoid clan. After they finished there meal they all laid down to get some sleep.

The morning arrived quickly and Awarege had met sunrise ready for meditation and for his leave. The Monastery would be left with Elder Akira, and as the golden sky seemed to burn, Awarege cycled its very essence through out his body. Many of his clan seeked to turn into the earth, depart with the wind, burst into flames. Awarege had lost this chance and merely wished to keep his demons at bay. Meditation was key for this. But the lines that ran up his spin, covered his bald head and ran around his eyes and downward from his mouth, would appear more so then he liked. A mark of his curse, something he must bare. Releasing a breath and allowing the marks to slowly recede and his soul to calm was all that was left. Then breakfast.

Jinpachi woke up early that morning before his men so that he could find the Junkan clan head and inquire of him why he was even here to begin with. So with a start he got up and got himself dressed and began toward the eating area looking for him.

A mix of berries, a bowl of rice, 2 small pieces of fish with a small bowl of Miso, and the crowned piece of Awarege's meal, a steaming cup of tea mixed with a small amount of sake to ease the quivering nerves. He had much to discuss about the upcoming journey but felt as though something with the men accompanying the Daisuke clan would cause problems.

Jinpachi went and sat down at the breakfast table apart from the other clan head. He inclined his head slightly and began to speak.
"I would like some information on what exactly we are doing here. I do not risk my men lightly and I am only out here as a favor to your clan in hopes of a formal alliance."
He then looked at him expectantly.

"I assume it was never explained to you." Awarege sighed as he slowly began eating his meal.
"I hope you realize the grave dangers we of this continent currently face. It appears some of our monasteries have been attacked. So we are a bit on edge as is. However there is a clan in the north, they foretell the future through visions. My Fiance is there clan head, she has foretold that I am to be important in the upcoming events. Your father was to be my guard. However I assume that route of action is no longer valid."

"I challenged him for the position of clan head, and he was slain in honorable combat, and as is our tradition, I am now the clan head. But, my father was a man of his word and so am I. As the new clan head, his burdens and debts are now mine. If he said he would be your guard, then you now have my service." Jinpachi spoke calmly, never breaking eye contact.

"He never spoke words of my well being to me. Honestly I was unsure who would arrive just that it would be a group of six." His spoke drinking his soup from the bowl. "But the past is not of my concern, rather the future is more of a concern." Finishing off the soup Awarege sat his bowl down looking at his empty plate. "It would probably be best for you to tell me your worries, concerns and obviously ask my any questions you have."

"Did you fiancee speak specifically about what these future events are exactly, and if so, what my fathers role was to be in it other than that of a guard? I'd rather not risk my men on something as vague as the information you given me makes it." Spoke jinpachi.

"That even I do not know. we where summoned to hear this. I assume the letter addressed either your father by name or addressed to "Daisuke clan head" either or, but as far as I can tell, or as far as I can see is simple us leaving here. Today." With that he slurped slowly on his tea. His letter was vague, maybe the Daisuke clans letter was as well. However his specified his name. If Miko truly saw the future wouldn't she have foretold the mans death?

"I will trust you this once, all I ask is don't make me regret it. Where are we to go and meet this person anyway?"
Spoke jinpachi. This all seemed suspicious to him, but if it were true, there was glory to be had at least.

"The Celestial Hills. Their shrines are located there. However we will not take any main roads. I would prepare my men for a rough journey." He explained as he finished his tea. "We'll go through the spirit trails of our forest. It reaches a small town near the base of those mountains. Like I said it will be rough, but it will avoid the shogunate." Closing his eyes and breathing in the soft air of the dinning area Awarege couldn't grasp this young man. He wished for an alliance but his paranoia put him in the enemy zone. One could not trust those who trusted no one.

"There are somethings one must hid from the world Dokusei-san. But as we take you in, house you with your kin, feed you and share information we do not expect to be met with the suspicion it seems you have. Now as for my other concerns. A former student has aligned himself with the shogunate, and as it seems he's orchestrated the attacks on our brothers homes. I do fear this place does not have much time. Yet I can not leave with a group anxious of my bite."
